In order to get your pawn loan you will need an ID like a driver's license or passport. We use this information to fill in all of your contact information. You must be at least 18 years old to get a loan from a pawn shop.
Next, we fill in the date that your loan is given to you as well as the details of what you are pawning and how much cash your pawn loan is for.
The video uses a gold ring as an example for a pawn. In the example, a $100 pawn loan is given for the ring. There is an initial fee that is paid once (when you repay your pawn loan) and a daily storage fee (which you pay based on how many days your item was in pawn). In the video's example, there is a $10 initial fee and a $0.50 per day storage fee for the ring.
Storage fees vary depending on the size of the item. Smaller items will have a lower fee because they take up less space in the vault. Large items require more space in the vault so their storage fees are higher.
Once your pawn sheet is complete, you are given the yellow copy to hold on to so that you know what the terms are. Unlike other pawn shops, we do not keep your item or charge you a fee if you lose the yellow sheet. It’s important to keep it safe though because then your item will be retreived faster from the vault when you come to pick it up.
Let’s continue the ring example. Say you get your pawn loan on January 1, 2018 and you come to pick it up ten days later on January 10, 2018. That gives you 10 days in pawn storage.
The $0.50 per day storage fee is multiplied by 10 which is $5 for you storage. The initial fee is always the same, in this example it's $10. The loan amount was $100. That brings us up to a grand total of $115 to get your ring back from pawn.
While we do accept cards to pay for merchandise in the store, we CANNOT accept cards to repay pawn loans. They must be repaid in cash!
Your item can only be retrieved from pawn by the person whose name is on the pawn sheet. We do this for security purposes so that nobody but you can get your property.
At Mr. Deals, we do work with our customers to help them out as much as we can. We offer extensions on pawns for people who need more time. If you’re worried about your item, please give us a call and we will help you out.
